Anti-Money Laundering Procedure

Mondoir Art Gallery voluntarily undertakes comprehensive measures to mitigate the risks of money laundering and to ensure the safety and integrity of the UAE art scene for artists, collectors, and galleries. Our proactive approach helps maintain a secure environment for all stakeholders involved.

To achieve this, we conduct identification and screening checks on all clients purchasing from our gallery, similar to those performed by financial institutions, financial advisors, and major international auction houses. We kindly request that clients or prospective clients provide the necessary documentation and information to comply with our obligations.

If you are a private individual, please provide:

1. A copy of a valid photo identity document (passport, driving license, or national ID card) confirming your full name, date of birth, and nationality.
2. A copy of a utility bill from the past 3 months confirming your permanent residential address.
3. Confirmation of the source of the funds used to acquire the artwork(s).

If you are purchasing through a company or other corporate entity, please provide:

1. Company details, including evidence of incorporation and confirmation of the current director(s) and ultimate beneficial owner(s)*.
2. A current signed passport for each beneficial owner (individual owning 25% or more of the share capital or voting rights in the company, or who otherwise exercises control over the company's management).
3. Confirmation of the source of the funds used to acquire the artwork(s). *Note: If a company is owned by a corporate entity, evidence of this (e.g., register of shareholders or members) showing the chain of ownership until all individuals are accounted for is required.

If you are buying on behalf of a third party, we will need to identify the ultimate buyer in addition to the agent. If the ultimate buyer is a private individual, please refer to the private individual section for the required documents. If the ultimate buyer is a company or other corporate entity, please refer to the company section for the required documents.

Please ensure that all documents are clear and shown in their entirety. For passport copies, ensure that the entire photo page is visible, including the characters shown along the bottom of the page.

Payments received by the gallery must come from a bank account held in the name of the person or entity named on the invoice. If a third party wishes to make a payment on your behalf, prior authorization is required. If the information provided does not meet our requirements, we reserve the right to refuse third-party payments.
